Our Alemannenhaus in Günterstalstraße 56 is the hub and center of our fraternity life. The house is the venue for most lectures, parties, balls, seminars and lifelong contact point for all fraternity brothers. Located in the quiet district of Wiehre, the stylish villa was designed by architect Wilhelm Meeß and built in 1896. Meeß himself was very active in Freiburg as a master builder; among other things, he was involved in the construction of the Johanneskirche from 1894 to 1899. By using different materials such as clinker, sandstone and wood, Meeß created a picturesque overall impression in the Freiburg style of the turn of the century with the Alemannenhaus. The charisma of the charm of a time-honored corporate house is unmistakable.
The center of the house is our charming Kneipsaal. One room further, our cozy saloon with wood-paneled ceiling and heavy leather sofas in British style invites to unique club atmosphere. The living room, terrace and balcony also invite you to socialize with your brothers and friends. As a contrast, there are rooms with a quiet atmosphere such as the library and the batch room. The active rooms offer a place of privacy for the young active members. For up to nine actives, the house offers rooms as a place to live.
Our library is a special feature. It offers students of various disciplines a great opportunity for quiet and concentrated learning and working directly on the house. Especially for medical and law students our library offers excellent equipment with standard textbooks, technical literature, standard commentaries, as well as journals and thus provides excellent conditions for successful studies. Our library is also well equipped for a wide variety of other disciplines.
To be on the house is always a special feeling for every Alemanni, a feeling of security, familiarity, a feeling of eternal home.
